Calvary Farms and Family ADDventures invite the community to the grand opening of a new sensory suite, where the therapeutic magic of animals meets the needs of neurodivergent individuals.
Adkins, TX – Calvary Farms, the beloved family-owned working farm in Adkins, Texas, is thrilled to announce the grand opening of the Family ADDventures Sensory Suite this October in honor of ADHD Awareness Month. This exciting new addition comes thanks to a meaningful collaboration with Nicole Santiago, founder of Family ADDventures and a dedicated mental health advocate.
Located just a short drive from San Antonio, Calvary Farms has long been a sanctuary where visitors can connect with nature and enjoy the companionship of various animals. Owners Molly and Jason Eittreim, who have always been passionate about the therapeutic benefits of their farm, are particularly excited about this new sensory area. The initiative holds special significance for them, as they have two neurodivergent children and have witnessed firsthand the positive impact of animals on their well-being.
Molly Eittreim shares her enthusiasm, stating, “Two of our kiddos are neurodivergent, and what these animals have done for them has been amazing. We have autistic kids that come out sometimes during the week. And [with] animals, there’s no judgment, just love. We have found, a lot of times, even people have trouble peopling, but they can connect with an animal.” This sentiment perfectly encapsulates why the new sensory suite is poised to be a transformative space for all who visit.
The Family ADDventures Sensory Suite is designed to provide a supportive environment where individuals with neurodivergent conditions can experience tailored sensory interactions and engage with the farm’s animals in a soothing, welcoming setting. This innovative space Calvary Farms will host fosters relaxation, joy, and meaningful connections with animals and the natural surroundings.
