Alan White, Owner of Sofia's Pizzeria, a local pizza place in San Antonio, TX, is offering to donate $10 from every 18" pizza sold this weekend to help support the families and community of Uvalde, Texas.
In a recent social media post, Alan wrote, "As many of you know, there was a horrible tragedy in Uvalde this week. This hit close to home, as our daughter Sofia is in 3rd grade and because of our work helping youth in the community through our Pies for Kids program.
To support their community, we will be donating $10 of every 18" pizza sold this weekend to the Uvalde Victims Fund, which was set up by the Uvalde school district... We urge everyone to take a little extra time this Memorial Day weekend to give your kids an extra hug and let them know how much you love them."
Every month Sofia's Pizzeria works with a different children's nonprofit organization. Their Pies for Kids program donates 35 cents of every 18" pizza sold in the month to that organization. As per their website, "It is our way of helping make to improve a child's life one pizza pie at a time."
