One of the special things about The Edison Experiment is their willingness to create the drink exactly as the customer desires—making puree, syrup, and freshly squeezed juice from scratch, or lighting the drink on fire to add a taste that can change the game.
The staff consist of mixologists—not bartenders. One of the keyholders and mixologists, Chloe Sanders, said she loves being able to express herself through the drinks “it's more about mixing the flavors and being crafty- [we] make all of our drinks with extra love”. With each season, the employees at Edison Experiment come together to draft a menu to fit the vibe that customers are looking for, even creating special menus for holidays, and even having a dessert menu, with drinks tasting exactly like Banana Pudding, Peanut Butter Cup, or Pecan Pie.
Upon arrival, the chandeliers across the ceiling grab your attention, immediately feeling upscale, yet still making guests feel comfortable—a challenge for many bars. With many couches and chairs, it is truly a place to relax rather than an overwhelming, crowded feel that turns many people off bars. If you don’t drink often, this is the perfect place to learn what you do like—just tell your mixologist what flavors you enjoy and they’ll be able to come up with a few drinks on the spot!
One of the highlights of The Edison Experiment is their Monday night deal: five-dollar drinks for service workers. “We appreciate all the work they do, and we want to give back any way we can,” said Jazmyn Montalvo, another mixologist. It seems their love for the community and any guests runs deep, as they've had regulars hold events in the bar, and regularly celebrate occasions together.
Taking the ambiance to the next level, they have live music on Friday and Saturday nights, even featuring stand-up comedy from guests.
