Are you craving live music? Reminiscing about your days as an all-star athlete? Lucky for you, San Antonio is the best place to be for entertainment. Ranging from local live music to professional broadway tours, there is no shortage of things to do. As we celebrate the beginning of October, we wanted to prepare you for upcoming events.
Music
The live music scene in San Antonio is one of the city’s main attractions due to the amount of local and chained venues. Paper Tiger is a go-to outlet for punk-rockers to enjoy music with like-minded individuals. This month features a variety of artists including “Under the Shade of Green,” “Narrow Head,” and “Speedy Ortiz.” There will also be a special event for the One Direction fangirls.
For more information, visit Paper Tiger’s calendar of events.
Broadway
While Broadway shows are not everyone’s cup of tea, it is no doubt one of the most pure forms of art and entertainment. With that being said, there are many different avenues to take when going to see a show. The Majestic Theatre is the place to go for professional Broadway tours, while the Magik Theatre consists of communal projects geared toward children. This month at the Majestic, theatre-goers will have the chance to see “Six: The Musical.” For the youngsters, parents are able to take their children to see “Carmella Full of Wishes” at the Magik Theatre.
For more information, visit Majestic Theatre and Magik Theatre’s calendar of events.
Sports
If you’d rather sit through the hustle and bustle of a sporting event rather than a musical, there are options for you. The University of Texas at San Antonio is a D1 university with a killer football team. The roadrunners have an array of home games at the Alamodome during October and could always use more fans in the crowd. Outside of college football, San Antonio is also the home of the San Antonio Spurs basketball team. With a range of dates, football and basketball fans will always have something to look forward to. For something more laid-back, most of the sports bars in the area host watch parties.
Rather than spending your fall at home, venture out and find the local entertainment. Many people think fall should be spent curled up inside, but fall is the time to get outside and explore new things due to the perfect, chilled weather.
