"Naturally AMAZING" both above, and below the surface
SAN ANTONIO - Known as Texas' largest show cave, Natural Bridge Caverns is, without a doubt, an astounding place to visit, especially if you're looking for fun outdoor family activities in San Antonio.
Natural Bridge offers tours of varying difficulty available for visitors to explore the spectacular views of cavern formations 180 feet below the surface that include: stalagmites, stalactites, soda straws, and chandeliers- all of which have been formed naturally throughout hundreds of years.
The stunning sights deep inside the caverns aren't the only thing to experience here at Natural Bridge Caverns. There are also many surface attractions, including ziplining and mazes.
A 60-foot high Twisted Trails Zip Rails & Ropes Course, where guests will have up to 45 minutes to test their balance on a four-level ropes course. Traditional elements include vertical rope ladders, double beams, and lily pads. You can test your agility, balance, and strength on the weave walk, squid steps, and twisted rope. If you are a little nervous, you can start on the lower levels to build your confidence, or for the brave, quickly make your way to the top, and the choice is yours. While traversing through the ropes course, you can transition seamlessly to one of seven zip rails. With over 685 total feet of suspended track, you can soar high over the tree canopy. It's like riding a zip line, but the best part is you are in control of what challenges and routes you take as you navigate to the zip rails.
If you are not into high flying, test your navigation skills in The AMAZEn' Ranch Roundup, a 5000-square-foot outdoor maze. You and your friends can make your way through the maze and time yourself to see how well you did. It includes three towers and a bridge to help you find your way if you get lost, with checkpoints throughout the maze.
Kids will enjoy interactive mining at Natural Bridge Mining Co. Water runs from a wooden water tower through a series of troughs called a sluice. Pour your bag of mining "rough" into a screen tray and lower your tray into the trough of water. You sift and shake the tray as the flowing water reveals amethyst, rose quartz, emeralds, arrowheads, or even FOSSILS! We found a good assortment of treasures in our bag of mining rough! Choose from Gem & Mineral bags, Fossil bags, and Arrowhead bags. After discovering your gems and minerals, use the identification charts to accurately identify exactly what you have found.
There are so many San Antonio family activities to enjoy at Natural Bridge Caverns!
